Universe

The universe is everything that exists — space, time, matter, and energy. It began around 13.8 billion years ago and has been expanding ever since. The universe contains billions of galaxies, each with millions or billions of stars and planets. Scientific study of the universe shows its incredible precision, balance, and laws — reflecting a system far beyond human design.

The idea that the universe is expanding was first proposed through Einstein's general theory of relativity and confirmed by astrophysical research. Scientists noticed that light from galaxies shifts toward the red end of the spectrum, which means those galaxies are moving away from each other. This shows that the universe is steadily growing in size.

أَوَلَمْ يَرَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا أَنَّ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضَ كَانَتَا رَتْقًا فَفَتَقْنَاهُمَا ۖ وَجَعَلْنَا مِنَ الْمَاءِ كُلَّ شَيْءٍ حَيٍّ ۖ أَفَلَا يُؤْمِنُونَ

"Have the disbelievers not seen that the heavens and the earth were a joined entity, then We split them apart? And We made from water every living thing. Will they not then believe?"

[Quran 21:30]

اللَّهُ خَالِقُ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ وَهُوَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ وَكِيلٌ

"Allah is the Creator of everything, and He is Guardian over all things."

[Quran 39:62]

وَمَا خَلَقْنَا السَّمَاءَ وَالْأَرْضَ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا لَاعِبِينَ

"We did not create the heavens and the earth and all that is between them for mere play."

[Quran 21:16]

إِنَّ فِي خَلْقِ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ وَاخْتِلَافِ اللَّيْلِ وَالنَّهَارِ لَآيَاتٍ لِّأُولِي الْأَلْبَابِ

"Surely, in the creation of the heavens and the earth and in the alternation of the night and day, there are signs for people of understanding."

[Quran 3:190]

اللَّهُ الَّذِي خَلَقَ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضَ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا فِي سِتَّةِ أَيَّامٍ ثُمَّ اسْتَوَىٰ عَلَى الْعَرْشِ ۖ مَا لَكُم مِّن دُونِهِ مِن وَلِيٍّ وَلَا شَفِيعٍ ۚ أَفَلَا تَتَذَكَّرُونَ

"Allah is the One Who created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them in six Days, then He established Himself on the Throne. You have no protector or intercessor besides Him. Will you not then remember?"

[Quran 32:4]

وَالسَّمَاءَ بَنَيْنَاهَا بِأَيْدٍ وَإِنَّا لَمُوسِعُونَ

"And the heaven We built with Our power, and indeed, We are expanding it."

[Quran 51:47]

اللَّهُ الَّذِي رَفَعَ السَّمَاوَاتِ بِغَيْرِ عَمَدٍ تَرَوْنَهَا ۖ ثُمَّ اسْتَوَىٰ عَلَى الْعَرْشِ ۖ وَسَخَّرَ الشَّمْسَ وَالْقَمَرَ ۖ كُلٌّ يَجْرِي لِأَجَلٍ مُّسَمًّى ۚ يُدَبِّرُ الْأَمْرَ يُفَصِّلُ الْآيَاتِ لَعَلَّكُم بِلِقَاءِ رَبِّكُمْ تُوقِنُونَ

"Allah is the One Who raised up the heavens without any pillars that you can see, then He established Himself on the Throne; He subjected the sun and the moon, each running its course till an appointed time. He conducts all affairs, and He makes His signs clear so that you may be convinced of the meeting with your Lord."

[Quran 13:2]

سَنُرِيهِمْ آيَاتِنَا فِي الْآفَاقِ وَفِي أَنفُسِهِمْ حَتَّىٰ يَتَبَيَّنَ لَهُمْ أَنَّهُ الْحَقُّ ۗ أَوَلَمْ يَكْفِ بِرَبِّكَ أَنَّهُ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ شَهِيدٌ

Soon We will show them Our Signs in the universe and in their own selves until it becomes clear to them that this is the Truth. Is it not enough that your Lord is a Witness over everything?

[Quran 41:53]

ثُمَّ اسْتَوَىٰ إِلَى السَّمَاءِ وَهِيَ دُخَانٌ فَقَالَ لَهَا وَلِلْأَرْضِ ٱئْتِيَا طَوْعًا أَوْ كَرْهًا ۖ قَالَتَا أَتَيْنَا طَائِعِينَ

Then He directed Himself to the heaven while it was smoke and said to it and to the earth, "Come willingly or unwillingly." They said, "We have come willingly."
