Geochemistry
Geochemistry is the branch of chemistry that explores the Earth's chemical composition and the processes that shape it. It studies elements in rocks, soil, and water, and how they interact through natural cycles like erosion, volcanism, and mineral formation. This field helps us understand Earth’s structure, resources, and environmental changes — from mountain formation to groundwater quality. It's where chemistry meets the planet!
وَهُوَ ٱلَّذِىٓ أَنزَلَ مِنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ مَآءًۭ فَأَخْرَجْنَا بِهِۦ نَبَاتَ كُلِّ شَىْءٍۢ فَأَخْرَجْنَا مِنْهُ خَضِرًۭا نُّخْرِجُ مِنْهُ حَبًّۭا مُّتَرَاكِبًۭا ۖ وَمِنَ ٱلنَّخْلِ مِن طَلْعِهَا قِنْوَانٌۭ دَانِيَةٌۭ وَجَنَّـٰتٍۢ مِّنْ أَعْنَـٰبٍۢ وَٱلزَّيْتُونَ وَٱلرُّمَّانَ مُشْتَبِهًۭا وَغَيْرَ مُتَشَـٰبِهٍ ۚ ٱنظُرُوٓا۟ إِلَىٰ ثَمَرِهِۦٓ إِذَآ أَثْمَرَ وَيَنْعِهِۦٓ ۚ إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكُمْ لَـَٔايَـٰتٍۢ لِّقَوْمٍۢ يُؤْمِنُونَ
"He it is Who sends down water from the heavens. Then We bring forth with it vegetation of every kind. From it We bring forth green shoots, from which We bring forth thick-clustered grain. And from the date-palm, from its sheaths come forth clusters of dates hanging low. And there are gardens of grapes, olives, and pomegranates similar yet different. Look at their fruit when they bear fruit and ripen. Verily in this are Signs for those who believe."
[Quran 6:99]
وَٱلْأَرْضَ مَدَدْنَـٰهَا وَأَلْقَيْنَا فِيهَا رَوَٟسِىَ وَأَنبَتْنَا فِيهَا مِن كُلِّ شَىْءٍۢ مَّوْزُونٍۢ
"And the earth We spread it out and set upon it firm mountains, and We caused everything to grow in it in a balanced measure."
[Quran 15:19]
أَلَمْ نَجْعَلِ ٱلْأَرْضَ مِهَـٰدًۭا
"Did We not make the earth a cradle?"
[Quran 78:6]
وَجَعَلْنَا فِي ٱلْأَرْضِ رَوَٰسِىَ أَن تَمِيدَ بِهِمْ وَجَعَلْنَا فِيهَا فِجَاجًۭا سُبُلًۭا لَّعَلَّهُمْ يَهْتَدُونَ
"And We set firm mountains upon the earth lest it should shake them, and We made therein broad pathways so that they might find their way."
[Quran 21:31]
هُوَ ٱلَّذِى جَعَلَ لَكُمُ ٱلْأَرْضَ ذَلُولًۭا فَٱمْشُوا۟ فِى مَنَاكِبِهَا وَكُلُوا۟ مِن رِّزْقِهِۦ ۖ وَإِلَيْهِ ٱلنُّشُورُ
"He it is Who made the earth subservient to you. So traverse in its tracks and partake of the sustenance He provides. To Him you shall be resurrected."
[Quran 67:15]
أَوَلَمْ يَرَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوٓا۟ أَنَّ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَاتِ وَٱلْأَرْضَ كَانَتَا رَتْقًۭا فَفَتَقْنَـٰهُمَا ۖ وَجَعَلْنَا مِنَ ٱلْمَآءِ كُلَّ شَىْءٍۢ حَىٍّۢ ۖ أَفَلَا يُؤْمِنُونَ
"Did the disbelievers not see that the heavens and the earth were a closed-up mass, then We opened them out? And We made from water every living thing. Will they not then believe?"
[Quran 21:30]
وَهُوَ ٱلَّذِىٓ أَنشَأَ جَنَّـٰتٍ مَّعۡرُوشَـٰتٖ وَغَيۡرَ مَعۡرُوشَـٰتٖ وَٱلنَّخۡلَ وَٱلزَّرۡعَ مُخۡتَلِفٗآ أُكُلُهُۥ وَٱلزَّيۡتُونَ وَٱلرُّمَّانَ مُتَشَـٰبِهٗا وَغَيۡرَ مُتَشَـٰبِهٖۦ ۚ كُلُوا۟ مِن ثَمَرِهِۦٓ إِذَآ أَثۡمَرَ وَءَٰتُوا۟ حَقَّهُۥ يَوۡمَ حَصَادِهِۦۖ وَلَا تُسۡرِفُوا۟ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ لَا يُحِبُّ ٱلْمُسۡرِفِينَ
"And He it is Who produces gardens trellised and untrellised, and date palms, and crops of different shape and taste (its fruits and its seeds) and olives, and pomegranates, similar (in kind) and different (in taste). Eat of their fruit when they ripen, but pay the due thereof (its Zakat) on the day of its harvest, and waste not by extravagance. Verily, He likes not Al-Musrifun (those who waste by extravagance)."
[Quran 6:141]
أَلَمْ تَرَ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ أَنزَلَ مِنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ مَآءًۭ فَأَخْرَجْنَا بِهِۦ ثَمَرَٰتٍۢ مُّخْتَلِفًا أَلْوَٰنُهَا ۚ وَمِنَ ٱلْجِبَالِ جُدَدٌۭ بِيضٌۭ وَحُمْرٌۭ مُّخْتَلِفٌ أَلْوَٰنُهَا وَغَرَابِيبُ سُودٌۭ
"Do you not see that Allah sends down water from the sky? With it We bring forth fruits of various colors. In the mountains are streaks white and red, of various shades, and also jet black."
[Quran 35:27]
