Al-Zahrawi (936–1013) was a brilliant Muslim surgeon known as the "Father of Modern Surgery." He wrote a 30-volume encyclopedia called Al-Tasrif, which described over 200 surgical instruments. His methods in surgery, stitches, and bone-setting were used in Europe for centuries.
