Embryology
Embryology is the study of how a human develops from a tiny fertilized egg into a baby. It starts when the sperm meets the egg, forming a single cell. This cell keeps dividing, forming tissues and organs in stages. Over time, it turns into a full baby inside the mother’s womb. It helps us understand how life begins and grows.
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلنَّاسُ إِن كُنتُمْ فِى رَيْبٍۢ مِّنَ ٱلْبَعْثِ فَإِنَّا خَلَقْنَـٰكُم مِّن تُرَابٍۢ ثُمَّ مِن نُّطْفَةٍۢ ثُمَّ مِنْ عَلَقَةٍۢ ثُمَّ مِن مُّضْغَةٍۢ مُّخَلَّقَةٍۢ وَغَيْرِ مُخَلَّقَةٍۢ لِّنُبَيِّنَ لَكُمْ ۚ وَنُقِرُّ فِى ٱلْأَرْحَامِ مَا نَشَآءُ إِلَىٰٓ أَجَلٍۢ مُّسَمًّۭى ثُمَّ نُخْرِجُكُمْ طِفْلًۭا ثُمَّ لِتَبْلُغُوٓا۟ أَشُدَّكُمْ ۖ وَمِنكُم مَّن يُتَوَفَّىٰ وَمِنكُم مَّن يُرَدُّ إِلَىٰٓ أَرْذَلِ ٱلْعُمُرِ لِكَىْ لَا يَعْلَمَ مِنۢ بَعْدِ عِلْمٍۢ شَيْـًۭٔا ۚ وَتَرَى ٱلْأَرْضَ هَامِدَةًۭ فَإِذَآ أَنزَلْنَا عَلَيْهَا ٱلْمَآءَ ٱهْتَزَّتْ وَرَبَتْ وَأَنبَتَتْ مِن كُلِّ زَوْجٍۢ بَهِيجٍۢ
"O mankind! If you are in doubt about the Resurrection, then (consider) that We created you from dust, then from a sperm-drop, then from a clot, then from a lump of flesh — partly formed and partly unformed — so that We may make (Our power) clear to you. And We cause to remain in the wombs whatever We will for an appointed term, then We bring you forth as infants, then (We nourish you) that you may reach your maturity. And among you is he who dies, and among you is he who is brought back to the feeblest age so that he knows nothing after (having had) knowledge. And you see the earth lifeless, but when We send down water upon it, it stirs and swells and produces every kind of beautiful growth."
[Quran 22:5]
وَلَقَدْ خَلَقْنَا الْإِنسَانَ مِن سُلَالَةٍ مِّن طِينٍ
ثُمَّ جَعَلْنَاهُ نُطْفَةً فِي قَرَارٍ مَّكِينٍ
ثُمَّ خَلَقْنَا النُّطْفَةَ عَلَقَةً فَخَلَقْنَا الْعَلَقَةَ مُضْغَةً فَخَلَقْنَا الْمُضْغَةَ عِظَامًا فَكَسَوْنَا الْعِظَامَ لَحْمًا ثُمَّ أَنشَأْنَاهُ خَلْقًا آخَرَ فَتَبَارَكَ اللَّـهُ أَحْسَنُ الْخَالِقِينَ
"We created man from an essence of clay, then We placed him as a drop of fluid in a secure place. Then We fashioned the drop into a clot, then We fashioned the clot into a lump, then We fashioned the lump into bones, then We clothed the bones with flesh; thereafter We brought him forth as another creature. So blessed is Allah, the best of creators."
[Quran 23:12-14]
وَأَنَّهُ خَلَقَ الزَّوْجَيْنِ الذَّكَرَ وَالْأُنثَىٰ مِن نُّطْفَةٍ إِذَا تُمْنَىٰ
"And that He created the two mates – the male and the female – from a sperm-drop when it is emitted."
[Quran 53:45-46]
خَلَقَكُم مِّن نَّفْسٍ وَاحِدَةٍ ثُمَّ جَعَلَ مِنْهَا زَوْجَهَا وَأَنزَلَ لَكُم مِّنَ الْأَنْعَامِ ثَمَانِيَةَ أَزْوَاجٍ يَخْلُقُكُمْ فِي بُطُونِ أُمَّهَاتِكُمْ خَلْقًا مِّن بَعْدِ خَلْقٍ فِي ظُلُمَاتٍ ثَلَاثٍ ذَٰلِكُمُ ٱللَّهُ رَبُّكُمۡ لَهُ ٱلۡمُلۡكُ ۖ لَآ إِلَـٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ ۖ فَكَيۡفَ تُصۡرَفُونَ
"He created you from a single soul, then made from it its mate, and He produced for you from the grazing livestock eight mates. He creates you in the wombs of your mothers, creation after creation, within three veils of darkness, that is Allah, your Lord. To Him belongs the dominion. There is no god but He. So how are you turned away?"
[Quran 39:6]
الَّذِي أَحْسَنَ كُلَّ شَيْءٍ خَلَقَهُ وَبَدَأَ خَلْقَ الْإِنسَانِ مِن طِينٍ
ثُمَّ جَعَلَ نَسْلَهُ مِن سُلَالَةٍ مِّن مَّاءٍ مَّهِينٍ
"Who made everything He created good, and He began the creation of man from clay. Then He made his progeny from an extract of a base fluid."
[Quran 32:7-8]
إِنَّا خَلَقْنَا ٱلْإِنسَـٰنَ مِن نُّطْفَةٍ أَمْشَاجٍ نَّبْتَلِيهِ فَجَعَلْنَـٰهُ سَمِيعًۭا بَصِيرًۭا
"Indeed, We created man from a drop of mixed fluid to test him, and We made him hearing and seeing."
[Quran 76:2]
أَيَحْسَبُ الْإِنسَانُ أَن يُتْرَكَ سُدًى
أَلَمْ يَكُ نُطْفَةً مِّن مَّنِيٍّ يُمْنَى
ثُمَّ كَانَ عَلَقَةً فَخَلَقَ فَسَوَّى
"Does man think that he will be left uncontrolled, without purpose? Was he not a drop of fluid which gushed forth? Then he became a clinging clot; then Allah created and proportioned him"
[Quran 75:36-38]
فَلْيَنظُرِ الْإِنسَانُ مِمَّ خُلِقَ
خُلِقَ مِن مَّاءٍ دَافِقٍ
يَخْرُجُ مِن بَيْنِ الصُّلْبِ وَالتَّرَائِبِ
"So let man consider from what he is created. He is created from a gushing fluid that issues from between the loins and the ribs."
[Quran 86:5-7]
نَحْنُ خَلَقْنَاكُمْ فَلَوْلَا تُصَدِّقُونَ
أَفَرَأَيْتُم مَّا تُمْنُونَ
أَأَنتُمْ تَخْلُقُونَهُ أَمْ نَحْنُ الْخَالِقُونَ
“We created you, then why do you not believe? Have you ever considered the sperm that you emit? Do you create a child out of it, or are We its creator?”
[Quran 56:57-59]
